Training first as a Teacher and then as a Clinical Psychologist, Sonia has worked across child, adolescent, and adult mental health. Sonia has then trained in Neuropsychology and holds this scope of practice as well as Clinical Psychology.
Sonia is currently working part-time at QE Health. Her work at QE includes clinical, neuro and rehabilitation psychology and she is currently the Concussion Service Team Leader for patients who have sustained a head injury.
Sonia has extensive training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Sonia is trained as a facilitator in the Incredible Years Programme.
Since moving to work at QE Health, where she primarily does Assessment work, Sonia has been taking private practice therapy referrals with a focus on mild to moderate mental health difficulties from workplaces, GPs, and directly on her referral form below. Key areas of specialty in her private work include:
The functioning of the brain, including psychometric testing of cognition and behavior, such as memory, attention, learning, processing speed and reasoning.
The range of mental health and developmental conditions relevant to children and adolescents.
Psychologists are experts in mental health and most commonly work with people with anxiety, trauma, stress and depressive conditions.
